GeSCI was founded by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan‘s ICT Task Force, and its work is closely aligned with the Millennium Development Goals, which aim to achieve permanent, measurable reductions in global poverty and deprivation by 2015. GeSCI’s mission is based on the premise that education changes lives. Schools empowered with information and communications technologies can offer better education to millions of children in developing countries by linking them to information, opportunities and the global community.
GeSCI works at local, national and international level, to support developing countries as they create and deliver strategies to harness ICTs for education and community growth - transforming the prospects of learners and citizens and the fortunes of developing nations. This is the philosophy that guides GeSCI’s work, which is undertaken in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders, including governments of developing countries, non-governmental groups, academics and private sector companies.Previous Project Next Project
