In 2017, the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture (MoEAC) and the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service (MoSYNS) signed Terms of References with the main objective to remove the barriers that prevent the establishment of a well-coordinated and seamless school sport system in Namibia and to promote a national embodyment of quality physical education.
The Ministries recognised the vital role of physical activity to the holistic development of young people, fostering their physical, social and emotional health.

Impact of IPESS:
IPESS is incapacitating teachers at schools countrywide with the right know-how and tools to offer quality sport for development and physical education programmes. The Physical Education 4 Life Teachers’ Guides outline practical sessions for educators on how to implement quality physical education lessons and integrate life skills and health promotion amongst others.
